AGISTIN - Advanced Grid Interface for Innovative Storage Integration

The AGISTIN project is funded under the EU's Horizon Europe program. With a total of 14 partners from leading European energy companies, research organizations and universities, the project is developing a converter platform that connects industrial loads and generators to the grid with the help of a connected innovative sustainable storage system. A particular focus is on industrial loads, as they have so far contributed little to the provision of grid support.

The project will investigate which system services can be expected from loads in the future and how the developed concept can improve the dynamics in order to reduce costs for grid connection, grid expansion and equipment. In total, three demonstrators are planned: a large-scale industrial irrigation plant in Catalonia in Spain, a multi-MW green hydrogen production plant in the Netherlands and fast charging stations for electric vehicles at the Micorgrid in Kassel.
