National Hydrogen Strategy for the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The aim of the project is to support the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in developing a national hydrogen strategy. This should help UAE to become one of the world's leading producers of low-carbon hydrogen by 2031. The project models the production and demand of hydrogen in the UAE, analyzes the hydrogen export portfolio and develops a Hydrogen Monitoring Tool.

The National Hydrogen Strategy of the UAE outlines the key steps the UAE will take to accelerate the growth of the country's hydrogen economy and become one of the top 10 producers of low-carbon hydrogen in the world. These include creating hydrogen valleys to activate the domestic hydrogen market, developing policy frameworks to support the growth of the hydrogen industry, collaborating with other countries in the region to activate a regional hydrogen market, and investing in research and development (R&D) to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of hydrogen production, transport, and use.

The Strategy was released on November 06, 2023 at the second Emirates Energy Forum by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI). You can find the analysis here.
