Hydrogen Cooperation (MENA Region)

The countries of the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) are among the most promising locations to produce clean hydrogen worldwide, thanks to their abundant resources of low-cost gas and their high potential for wind and solar energy. The production capacities for hydrogen and its derivatives could very soon experience a major boom in the MENA region, making it a key region for cooperation in the energy transition with Germany and Europe. This development requires intensive cooperation between the two regions in terms of know-how exchange, local value creation and the further development of technology solutions along the entire hydrogen value chain.
